LFX-SS™ Stainless Steel Mesh Filter Bags

FiltraCore Asia’s LFX-SS™ stainless steel mesh filter bags are engineered for high-flow, reusable liquid filtration in demanding industrial environments where polymer-based filter bags may degrade under elevated temperatures, aggressive chemistry, or mechanical stress.

Manufactured from precision-woven AISI 304 or 316/316L stainless steel mesh, LFX-SS™ filter bags deliver repeatable surface filtration, high mechanical strength, and excellent thermal stability across a wide micron range. The rigid, non-shedding metal mesh construction ensures consistent particle retention, low pressure drop at high flow rates, and long service life, even in abrasive or corrosive process streams.

Designed for applications requiring washable, cleanable, and re-usable filtration media, LFX-SS™ stainless steel filter bags are well suited for chemical processing, high-temperature liquid filtration, solvent handling, and pre-screening or guard filtration duties where durability, chemical resistance, and process reliability are critical.

Technical Specifications
  • Material: Woven stainless steel wire mesh manufactured in AISI 304 or 316/316L grades. 316/316L stainless steel is recommended for chloride-bearing fluids, corrosive process streams, or chemically aggressive environments requiring enhanced corrosion resistance.
  • Micron ratings (surface-rated): 5 µm to 2,000 µm, defined by mesh weave pattern, aperture size, and wire diameter. Particle retention performance is governed by surface screening characteristics; selection should be based on target cut-point and allowable system differential pressure (ΔP).
(“Absolute” retention performance must be validated by application-specific test data for the selected mesh grade.)
  • Operating temperature: Stainless steel mesh media is stable at elevated temperatures; practical operating limits are determined by collar, gasket, and housing materials. As general guidance, continuous service up to approximately 260 °C is achievable in fully metallic sealing systems. Temperature derating applies where polymer collars, gaskets, or hybrid interfaces are used.
  • Construction: Sewn, hemmed, or spot-welded mesh body with bound edges for dimensional stability. All-metal welded constructions available for high-temperature, high-purity, or sterile applications. Supplied passivated as standard; electropolished finishes available on request to improve corrosion resistance and cleanability.
  • Collar / ring options: 304 or 316 stainless steel snap-ring with gasket (standard). All-metal collars or flanges available on request; PTFE-faced or PTFE-envelope gasket interfaces can be specified to enhance chemical resistance and sealing compatibility, subject to housing design.
  • Surface characteristics: Rigid, non-fibre-shedding woven metal mesh with stable pore geometry, enabling repeatable surface filtration and consistent flow performance over extended service life.
  • Compliance: Food-contact-compliant variants available in accordance with FDA 21 CFR and EU 1935/2004, subject to material certification and gasket/elastomer approval.
Applications
  • Automotive & Engine Applications – hot-oil straining, coolant recovery, and solvent recirculation in high-temperature or chemically aggressive processes
  • Cement & Asphalt – high-solids slurry screening, aggregate fines control, and additive handling where robust, reusable filtration media is required
  • Electronics & Semiconductor – high-purity fluid straining and chemical bath recirculation in chloride-controlled systems where polymer media may degrade
  • Food & Beverage – large-particle retention in oils, syrups, and process liquids, where 304/316 stainless steel is suitable for food-contact service and cleaning agents are non-chloride
  • Industrial Manufacturing – resin solutions, viscous liquid filtration, and process-fluid straining in demanding operating environments
  • Marine – reusable straining bags for bilge water, washdown systems, and oil-recovery pre-filtration (not a stand-alone compliance device)
  • Metalworking & Surface Treatment – removal of chips, scale, and sludge from oils, rinse tanks, and recirculating process fluids
  • Mining & Mineral Processing – high-solids screening and oversize particle retention in abrasive slurry applications.
  • Plastics & Injection Moulding – straining of hot liquid additives, colourants, pigment dispersions, and flushing oils (not intended for polymer melt filtration)
  • Power Generation – condensate and boiler-fluid protection in non-chloride service, including pre-screening and guard filtration
