LFX-CACT™ Carbon Block Filter Cartridges

FiltraCore Asia’s LFX-CACT™ activated-carbon filter cartridges provide reliable adsorption of free chlorine, colour bodies, taste and odour compounds, dissolved organics, and VOCs, delivering stable purification performance across industrial and commercial liquid-treatment systems. Using high-purity compressed carbon block or granular activated carbon (GAC) media, the LFX-CACT™ Series offers strong adsorption capacity, low channeling risk and predictable flow behaviour.

Designed for general water purification, utility-stream polishing and point-of-use/post-treatment duties, LFX-CACT™ cartridges allow operators to balance particulate retention, adsorption efficiency and pressure-drop stability according to system requirements. Their rigid construction and industry-standard dimensions ensure straightforward installation and long, consistent service life.

Available in standard lengths and end-cap formats for direct drop-in replacement with widely used activated-carbon cartridges from major OEMs, including Eaton® LOFSORB™ Series, Pentair® / Pentek® CBC, EP and GAC Series, Hydronix® CBC and GAC Series, and Omnipure® Carbon Block Series.

Technical Specifications

• Media and Construction: Carbon Block – compressed activated carbon with polypropylene prefilter layer, polypropylene core and end caps, and polyethylene outer netting for fines control and combined particulate plus adsorptive performance. Base carbon grades include DLPAC (coconut-shell) and DLCTO (coal-based). GAC – high-activity granular activated carbon packed in a polypropylene core/shell with polypropylene retainers and polyethylene outer netting for radial-flow adsorption.
• Nominal Retention Ratings: Carbon Block ~5 µm standard, with 1–10 µm variants available. GAC cartridges are adsorption-focused with nominal particulate retention ≥20 µm.
• Nominal Lengths: 9.75 inch, 10 inch, 20 inch and 30 inch (248–762 mm). Selected carbon block formats available in 40 inch (1,016 mm) depending on housing compatibility.
• Outside / Inside Diameter: Standard 2.5 inch (≈63 mm) OD; 4.5 inch (≈114 mm) “Big Blue” OD for high-capacity formats. ID varies by DOE vs SOE configuration.
• End Styles / Sealing Options: DOE (double open end) standard. SOE options: 222 flat, 222 fin, 226 flat and 226 fin. Elastomers: NBR (Buna-N), EPDM, Silicone, FKM (Viton®).
• Flow Direction: Carbon Block – outside-to-inside. GAC – radial-flow through packed carbon bed.
• Operating Temperature Limits (Water Service): Continuous up to 52 °C; short-term excursions to ~60 °C depending on elastomer and housing limits.

Applications

• Municipal and Industrial Water Treatment: Dechlorination of feedwater prior to RO, ion exchange or other downstream treatment processes.
• Food and Beverage Production: Colour, taste and odour control in brewing, soft drinks, bottled water and spirits.
• Chemical and Coatings Industry: Removal of trace organics and chlorine from process water used in formulations, mixing and cleaning.
• Cosmetics and Personal Care: Polishing of water used in lotions, emulsions, fragrances and rinse-off products.
• Electronics and Pharmaceuticals (Pretreatment): Pre-RO and pre-membrane dechlorination to protect membranes and downstream purification systems; not intended for final UPW or WFI loops.
• General Industrial Utilities: Polishing of rinse waters, plating baths and wash systems to maintain consistent water quality.
