LFX-CMB™ Melt-Blown Polypropylene Depth Filter Cartridges

FiltraCore Asia’s LFX-CMB™ melt-blown polypropylene depth filter cartridges deliver high-capacity, gradient-density depth filtration for industrial water, chemical processing and utility-stream conditioning where predictable particulate removal, long service life and robust mechanical stability are essential. Using multi-layer, graded-density melt-blown polypropylene media, each cartridge captures contaminants progressively — from coarse particulates on the outer layers to finer particles deep within the matrix — enabling high dirt-holding capacity, low differential pressure, and extended filtration cycles even under fluctuating flow and solids loading.

Produced using a fully thermal-bonded, binder-free process, the LFX-CMB™ structure eliminates loose fibres and extractables while ensuring strong resistance to chemical attack from acids, alkalis and common industrial solvents. The rigid polypropylene core and cage support maintain structural integrity under high-flow conditions, while the optimised pore-gradient delivers stable, predictable retention across the full range of nominal micron ratings.

Designed for pretreatment, clarification, utility water conditioning and general process-liquid filtration, LFX-CMB™ cartridges act as a dependable, cost-efficient workhorse for manufacturing plants, providing reliable particulate reduction and consistent fluid cleanliness.

Available in industry-standard lengths and diameters for drop in replacement with widely used melt blown polypropylene depth cartridges from major OEMs including Eaton LOFTREX® and LOFTREX® M, 3M™ Micro-Klean™ RT and Betapure™ NT-T series, Pentair® Polydepth™, and Amazon Filters SupaSpun™ / SupaSpun™ II, these cartridges are fully compatible with industry standard filter housings to support seamless integration into existing plant systems.

Technical Specifications

• Media and Construction: Multi-layer, graded-density melt-blown polypropylene (PP) depth-filtration media with rigid polypropylene core, cage and end caps. Fully thermal-bonded, binder-free construction minimises fibre migration, extractables and channeling. Outside-to-inside flow path enables progressive particulate capture, high void volume and extended dirt-holding capacity. Coreless configurations available on request for housings with integral support.
• Nominal Retention Ratings: 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, 25, 30, 50, 75, 100, 120, 125 and 150 µm nominal depth-filtration grades. 0.5 µm polishing grade available upon request (application-specific validation recommended).
• Nominal Lengths: 4.875 inch, 5 inch, 9.75 inch, 10 inch, 19.5 inch, 20 inch, 29.25 inch, 30 inch and 40 inch (124–1016 mm).
• Custom Length Options: Customisable non-standard lengths available on request for OEM system retrofits, legacy housings or specialised skid-based filtration systems (subject to feasibility and minimum order requirements).
• Outside / Inside Diameter: OD ≈ 2.4–2.5 inch (≈62–63 mm); ID ≈ 1.1 inch (≈28 mm).
• Dimensional Tolerances: Length ±1 percent or ±3 mm (whichever is greater); OD ±1 mm; ID ±1 mm.
• End Styles and Sealing Options: DOE (double open end) standard. SOE options available in 222 flat, 222 fin, 226 flat and 226 fin configurations. Elastomer options: EPDM (standard), Silicone, NBR (Buna-N) and FKM (Viton®) upon request.
• Operating Temperature Limits (Polypropylene Construction): Continuous service up to 80 °C; short-term excursions to approximately 90 °C depending on fluid chemistry and elastomer selection.

Applications

• Industrial Water Treatment: Removal of colloidal iron, sand, rust, scale and suspended particulates from cooling-water, rinse-water, boiler-feed pretreatment and utility loops; stabilises system cleanliness and protects downstream equipment.
• Chemical Processing: Clarification of acids, alkalis and compatible solvents using gradient-density PP media that supports stable recirculation, transfer operations and batch consistency across general chemical manufacturing.
• Inks, Paints and Coatings: Capture of agglomerates, undispersed pigments and contaminants to maintain viscosity stability, improve finish quality and prevent nozzle or equipment fouling.
• Food and Beverage Utilities: Prefiltration of process water, CIP fluids, syrups and sugar solutions; food-contact-compliant variants available where required for auxiliary process streams.
• RO and UF Membrane Pretreatment: High-capacity particulate protection for downstream membrane systems, reducing fouling, stabilising ΔP and extending membrane service intervals.
• Electronics and Microelectronics Support Systems: Filtration of cooling-water, utility DI water, equipment rinse lines and non-critical process streams within semiconductor and photovoltaic facilities.
• General Plant Services: Side-stream filtration for cooling towers, wash systems, plating operations, metal-finishing utilities and other industrial service-water loops requiring robust, cost-efficient particulate removal.
